Prerequisites

The following criteria must be met before application may be made for River Kayaking Instructor Trainer status: 1.

• The applicant must be a member of PC and the provincial/territorial affiliate association.
• The applicant must hold PC River Kayaking Level 2 Instructor certification.
• Application may only be made a minimum of two years after receiving PC River Kayaking Level 2 Instructor certification.
• The applicant must have instructed full time on a least two PC accredited River Kayaking Level 1 or Level 2 Instructor courses within 5 years of making the application.
• At the time of the application, the applicant must be an active participant in the instruction of PC River Kayaking Program or in its administration.
• The applicant must attend a one-day Instructor Trainer clinic.

Granting Process

• The application must be made to PC. Documentation to verify fulfilling the Prerequisites must be included with the application. Applications will then be sent to the appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association for their approval.
• The awarding of PC Instructor Trainer status will be considered by PC and appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association.
• The applicant will be notified in writing of his/her status for PC River Kayaking Instructor Trainer by the provincial/territorial affiliate association within six weeks of application.
