Master Canoeing Instructor
PREREQUISITES
The following criteria must be met before application may be made for Master
Canoeing Instructor status:
- The applicant must be a member of PC and the provincial/territorial affiliate association and an active canoeist.
- The applicant must hold PC Instructor Trainer certification in three of five disciplines with one being Moving Water Instructor Trainer.
- Application may only be made a minimum of two years after receiving the most recent PC Instructor Trainer certificate.
- The applicant must have instructed at least four PC accredited courses within five years prior to making the application of Master Instructor. Of these four Courses, there must be at least one Instructor 1 course and at least one Instructor 2 Course.
- At the time of the Award, the applicant must be an active participant in the instruction of PC Canoeing Program or in its administration.
GRANTING PROCESS
- The application must be made to PC who will then forward the application to the appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association. Documentation to verify the Prerequisites must be included with the application.
- The awarding of Master Instructor status will be considered by PC and the provincial/territorial affiliate association who will then recommend that the applicant berecognized as a Canadian Master Instructor of Canoeing.
- The applicant will be notified in writing within six weeks
of application of his/her status by the provincial/territorial affiliate association.
