Flatwater Canoeing Instructor Trainer
PREREQUISITES
The following criteria must be met before application may be made for Flatwater
Canoeing Instructor Trainer status:
- The applicant must be a member of PC and the provincial/territorial affiliate association and an active canoeist.
- Any IT or Level II Instructor, who has taught at any Instructor
course, may direct and examine a Flatwater Instructor Course.
- Any Lakewater 1 Instructor, who has taught at one instructor
course, may direct and examine a Flatwater Instructor Course provided he/she is approved by the province/ territory.
- Flatwater Instructors who have taught for a minimum of two (2) years and
have assisted in
teaching two (2) Flatwater Instructor Courses may direct and examine a Flatwater
Instructor course provided he/she is recommended by a Lakewater Instructor Trainer and
approved by the province/territory.
GRANTING PROCESS
- The application must be made to PC. Documentation to verify fulfilling the Prerequisites must be included with the application. Applications will then be sent to the appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association.
- The awarding of PC Instructor Trainer status will be considered by PC, and the provincial/territorial affiliate association.
- The applicant will be notified in writing of his/her status of PC Instructor Trainer by the provincial/territorial affiliate association within six weeks of application.
