Canoe Tripping Instructor Trainer
PREREQUISITES
The following criteria must be met before application may be made for Canoe
Tripping Instructor Trainer status:
- The applicant must be a member of PC and the provincial/territorial affiliate association and an active canoeist.
- The applicant must hold PC Level 2 Instructor's certification in the discipline of Canoe Tripping.
- Application may only be made a minimum of two years after receiving that PC Level 2 Instructor's certification in Canoe Tripping.
- The applicant must have instructed full time on a least two PC accredited Canoe Tripping Instructor Courses and at the level of application. (For example, applicant must have taught two full Instructor Level 1 courses to be eligible to examine Instructor 1 candidates. Applicants must have taught 2 full Instructor Level 2 courses to be eligible to examine Instructor 2 candidates).
- At the time of application, the applicant must be an active participant in the instruction of PC Canoeing Program or in its administration.
- The applicant must attend a one-day Instructor Trainer clinic.
GRANTING PROCESS
- The written application must be made to PC. Documentation to verify fulfilling the prerequisites must be included with the application. Applications will then be sent to the appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association for their approval.
- The awarding of PC Instructor Trainer status will be considered by PC and appropriate provincial/territorial affiliate association.
- The applicant will be notified in writing of his/her status of PC Canoe Tripping Instructor Trainer by his/her provincial/territorial affiliate association within six weeks of application.
